Success at National Writing Competition!Â
We celebrate the achievements of three promising young poets in Primary who entered a national writing competition and were awarded prizes for their poems. Benjamin W (Year 3) won second place for his poem, Who’s the champ, and Summer W (Year 3) and Gabriel H (Year 5) were highly commended for their poems, How nature blooms, and the Land where the swans once flew. This learning extension opportunity is one of the many competitions open to students in the Writers Circle program as we seek to encourage them to use their God-given gifts.Â

Enrichment camp for high achievers in Years 9 to 12
The recent Enrichment Camp was an exciting and immersive experience centred around an escape room theme, challenging students to work together through various activities that required critical thinking, teamwork, and creativity. Beyond the escape rooms, students enjoyed the natural surroundings with pool and kayaking sessions. A unique aspect was the student-led Bible study sessions, fostering spiritual growth and strengthening friendships. It was a memorable blend of adventure, faith, and friendship.

Opportunities for Our Music Ensembles to Excel
In Term 1, ºÚÁÏÍø Acadamy of the Arts (CAPA) ensembles will participate in performance assemblies, Primary assemblies, College tours, Spiritual Focus Week, Easter services, and various rehearsals. In Term 2, they will showcase their talents in the annual Concert Series, featuring Prep to Year 12 students. Later in the year, our music ensembles will represent the College in festivals and Eisteddfods. These events were highly successful last year, and students are eagerly anticipating them again.

Students Prepare for Mary Poppins the Musical
In preparation for the College musical in August, seventy students are honing their skills in singing, acting, dancing, graphic design, set and prop creation, and the musical orchestra. Based on P.L. Travers’ stories and the Walt Disney film, the musical will take us to Cherry Tree Lane to fly kites, dance on rooftops, feed the birds, and experience a spirit of generosity and kindness.

ºÚÁÏÍø Shines at Leadership Conference in Canberra
The Compass Student Leaders’ Conference recently took place in Canberra, where ºÚÁÏÍø was proudly represented by 19 of our Year 12 student leaders. They joined 190 other Christian school leaders from 28 schools across Australia for a five-day conference. Our students engaged in discussions about understanding the Gospel, comprehending culture, and becoming Culture Changers. They exhibited spiritual leadership initiative by praying for Senator David Fawcett and returned excited to share their experiences with the student body.
Year 6 Leaders Assist Prep to Year 3 Students in Making Friends
We encourage all Year 6 students to see themselves as leaders of Primary and role models for younger students. Wearing their high-vis vests, they have been actively building relationships with the younger students, demonstrating a commendable commitment to service. It’s been wonderful to witness the positive impact across the year levels, with older students developing leadership skills and younger ones feeling supported and encouraged.
